Stocking Stuffers

These first few were little 3 x 5 inch boxes of plastic miniatures that I found in line at a software store. Talk about great impulse buys!
Want to give the gift of sushi without the fuss of keeping the fish salmonella free? Then why not a miniature plastic sushi set?
It's Cake on Parade!
A charming scene of kids and little animal buddies. A great gift for the little ones in your life. What could go wrong?
This! This is what could go wrong! Inside were things that looked like pills and alcoholic drink tumblers! Why not some syringes while you're at it?!

This one was my favorite. There's this whole series of miniatures called Nostalgic Boys, which are scenes of boys being bad.
See that whiff of yellow gas? So... he farted and it made her skirt lift up? Wild.

And then I noticed this scene on the front of the box.

I turned to the side of the box to try and figure it out.

Um... the two boys are in a bathroom... with their midsections pushed up against one another... and the one in front has a look of surprise. Um....

These next few items I discovered at the big department stores in Ginza.

These doggie sweaters are too well-written to count as Engrish. But they sure is cute.

As know as de wan.

It just makes me want to cry!

Outside of one of the stores there were a bunch of discount books for sale. I was quite charmed by many of them, but especially by Dog Dog, which I bought and gave to Megan's dad.

You too can make an entire book filled with confused dogs and inane sayings.

"Try to be as cool as you can to find tonight's perfect date."

"Please don't look at me now. It's my private time."

"All stuffed animals!?"

"I don't usually show my secret private time. But today's special... you know."

"Net surfin'."

"Discover the tortois."

"Cheese! Dog."

New Year's is a big, big deal in Japan, and part of the tradition is to give little envelopes of money to young relatives. I found packages of these little envelopes for cheap and bought a whole mess, so... let me know if you need any little envelopes.

Something about HAM EGG HAM EGG really makes me happy.

Is it animal, vegetable or mushroom?

And here's one more book cover that I liked.

You can make my wow any time.
